Rhagovelia tantilla Drake & Harris, 1933 View in CoL .

New record for Colombia. As a complement to the original description, measurements are included, as well as figures of the male proctiger ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 11 − 14 ) and paramere ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 25 − 54 ).

Known distribution: Belize, Panama, Colombia, Peru.

Material examined. COLOMBIA, Nariño, Tumaco, Llorente, 15 XI 2010, leg. D.N. Padilla, 5 apt M, 5 apt F (PSO-CZ).

Apterous male. Length 3.12; maximum width 1.20. Length of antennal segments I −IV: 0.64, 0.34, 0.48, 0.50; pronotum L/W: 0.20/1.0. Mesonotum, length, 0.68; length of exposed metanotum at midline 0.10.

Proportions of male legs as follows: fore femur/tibia/ tarsal 2/ tarsal 3: 0.80/1.0/0.06/0.22; middle femur, length-width/ tibia/ tarsal 1/tarsal 2/tarsal 3: 1.36–0.24/1.08/0.10/0.16/0.68; hind femur length-width/ tibia/ tarsal 1/tarsal 2/tarsal 3: 1.20–0.28/1.20/0.06/0.10/0.30. Hind femur not extending beyond apex of abdomen.

Abdomen L/W: 1.36/1.16. Median length of abdominal tergites as follows: I and VI: 0.18; II: 0.16, III −V: 0.14, VII and VIII: 0.36; connexiva horizontal.

Venter, sternite VII>VI>V (0.22, 0.18, 0.16, respectively), proctiger as in figure 12, paramere (L/W: 0.16/0.08, Fig. 39 View FIGURES 25 − 54 ).

Apterous female. Length 3.28, maximum width 1.32. Length of antennal segments I–IV: 0.54, 0.40, 0.48, 0.48. Posterior femur L/W: 1.24–0.20, middle femur L/W: 1.60–0.24. Abdomen L/W: 1.38/1.24. Median length of abdominal tergites as follows: I, V, VI: 0.20, II: 0.16, III, IV: 0.18, VII: 0.28; tergite VIII horizontal, median length 0.38; basal width of tergite VII: 0.38; proctiger horizontal; sternite VII>VI>V (0.56, 0.22, 0.18, respectively).

Comparative notes. Individuals of Rhagovelia tantilla may be distinguished by the unarmed posterior tibia in both sexes, which bears a small, apical spur. The male is further characterized by the ratio of the length antennal segment I/ length segment II being equal to 1.88; the mesonotum being truncate at the apex; the ratio of the length of mesonotum/length of pronotum equal to 3.4; and the shape of the male paramere and proctiger ( Figs. 12 View FIGURES 11 − 14 , 39 View FIGURES 25 − 54 respectively).
