Species recognition. This species is most similar to D. anchicayensis , but differs in that the ventral concavity is much larger and the group of peglike setae extends more dorsally.

Description. Body length: 1.80–2.40 mm. Head: Frons brown, second row of setae concave. Flagellomere 1 round, light brown. Palpus of normal size, light brown. Thorax: Scutum light brown. Scutellum brown, with setae broken. Pleuron with anepisternum and proepisternum brown, rest of pleuron light brown to yellowishbrown. Mean costal length 0.49 wing length, range 0.48–0.50. Halter yellow. Legs yellowish-brown. Forecoxa in lateral view yellowish-brown. Foretibia with 4 dorsal setae. Foretarsomeres slender, elongate. Midcoxa brown. Hind coxa yellowish-brown. Hind coxal lobe light brown, round, short. Posterior face of hind femur with large basal group of peglike setae extending dorsally; more distally with large ventral concavity lacking spinuli ( Figs 113–114). Abdomen: Abdominal tergite 1 light brown, tergites 2–6 dark brown, with yellow anterior and posterior margins. Venter of abdomen whitish-yellow, with sparse setae. Male terminalia brown, cercus yellow.

Distribution. Known from a single site in Amazonian Brazil.

Derivation of specific epithet. From a Latin verb meaning “to have in abundance,” referring to the large number of peglike setae.
