Synergus symbioticus Schwéger & Melika, 2015

Synergus symbioticus Schwéger & Melika in Schwéger et al. (2015a) . Zootaxa 3999 (4): 482. Type material: PHMBL (holotype), paratypes in PHMBL, USNM and NCHU according to Schwéger et al. (2015a).

Material examined (2♂ & 3♀). Newly reared material deposited in UB with the following data: KOR: 10, Dae- jeon, Chungnam National University campus ( South Korea), Ex. asexual galls of Andricus pseudoflos , Q. dentata , (21.i.2018) iii.2018, Roca-Cusachs leg.

Distribution. Japan (Hokkaidô island), Far Eastern Russia (vicinities of Vladivostok) ( Schwéger et al. 2015a), and mainland China (Zhejiang province) ( Pujade-Villar et al. 2017). First record of this species for South Korea (this paper).

Biology. Reared from Andricus hakonensis and A. kashiwaphilus on Q. dentata and Q. mongolica ( Schwéger et al. 2015a) , and from undetermined leaf galls on Q. serrata ( Pujade-Villar et al. 2017) . The new material included in this paper was reared from asexual galls of Andricus pseudoflos on Q. dentata .

Remarks. According to the original description, females have the head and the metasoma black to very dark brown. The females of this species found in South Korea have the lower face and genae yellowish and metasoma dark rufous. Since the rest of the morphological traits are identical to those mentioned in the original description (including the male), we are confident that the Korean specimens correspond to S. symbioticus .
