Material examined (6♂ & 2♀). Newly reared material deposited in UB with the following data: KOR: 36, Dong- baekdongsan, Jeju Island ( South Korea), Ex. asexual galls of Neuroterus nr hakonensis , Q. glauca , (09.v.2019) Roca-Cusachs leg.

Distribution. Japan (Honshű and Kyűshű islands) ( Wachi et al. 2011; Melika et al. 2012); Taiwan (Nantou, Taichung and Hsinchu counties) ( Melika et al. 2012); and mainland China (Zhejiang and Fujian provinces) ( Wang et al. 2010; Pujade-Villar et al. 2017). First record of this species for South Korea (this paper).

Biology. Reared from undescribed leaf galls on Quercus glauca Thunb. (= Q. globosa (Lin & Liu) Liao ) ( Wachi et al. 2011; Melika et al. 2012). The new material included in this paper was reared from leaf galls of Neuroterus nr hakonensis (asexual form) on Q. glauca .

Remarks. Neuroterus hakonensis is treated as a gall inducer of Q. acutissima ( Pénzes et al. 2018) . The galls of the species that are treated here as Neuroterus nr. hakonensis are morphologically identical to those of the asexual generation of N. hakonensis ; however, no adults of the gall inducer were obtained from the collected galls. Even though the identity of these galls needs to be confirmed, the original material of S. shirakashii was obtained from presumably undescribed leaf galls on Q. glauca , which matches well with the galls from South Korea presented here.
