Figured material. RGM.1350541, Holocene, UPGG 041, off South Sulawesi.

Description. Colony erect, dichotomously branched at acute angle of about 75˚. Branches slender, 300–400 µm wide, sinuous, flat. Frontal side with zooids arranged in rows of one to three alternating on either side of the branch midline at variable distance, the lateral zooids diverging from the branch axis. Zooids slender, boundaries obscure; frontal wall marked by thick undulate wrinkles and evenly pseudoporous; pseudopores circular, small, 5–10 µm in diameter. Apertures circular to transversely oval; preserved peristomes short, 100–150 µm in length. Dorsal surface striated and pseudoporous. Gonozooid not present on the single available branch.

Remarks. In the absence of the gonozooid this single fragment is tentatively assigned to Nevianipora mainly because of the flatness of the branch and the presence of a distinct dorsal side. Other cyclostome genera devoid of autozooidal apertures on the dorsal side include Exidmonea and Tervia . In both these genera the branch cross section tends to be subcircular to subtriangular and the autozooidal apertures are arranged in more clearly defined rows ( Taylor et al. 2006). This is the only cyclostome specimen found in the assemblage.

N, Number of colonies and number of zooids measured; SD, standard deviation.
