Length. Male: 4.2–4.7mm; female: 5.6–5.7mm.
Color. General color stramineous throughout ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 ). Frontoclypeus stramineous with fuscous arcs from lateral frontal suture reaching only part way across ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 C, 20F).
Body. Head narrower than pronotum, subconical, anterior margin acutely angled. Vertex longer than 2x width between eyes ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 A–B, 20D). Ocellus next to eye slightly below anterior margin ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 E). Eye relatively large ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 A–B, 20D–E). Apex of anteclypeus widened, extending slightly beyond normal curve of genae ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 C, 20F). Pronotum median length shorter than median length of crown. Mesonotum and scutellum shorter than pronotum ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 A–B, 20D). Forewing macropterous, usually exposing apex of abdomen in female and sometimes in male ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 A–B, 20D–E).
Male. Pygofer side without macrosetae, apex as Fig. 21 View FIGURE 21 A ( Fig. 21 View FIGURE 21 A). Subgenital plate rounded laterally, macrosetae uniseriate laterally ( Fig. 21 View FIGURE 21 C). Style narrow, apophysis long, digitate, strongly laterally curved ( Fig. 21 View FIGURE 21 D–E). Connective stem shorter than arms ( Fig. 21 View FIGURE 21 F). Aedeagal shaft nearly evenly bent at base, long, slender, parallel to and far away from aedeagal base ( Fig. 21 View FIGURE 21 G–I).
Female. Hind margin of seventh sternum concave ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 G).

Distribution. Japan; Korea and widespread in China.
Remarks. This species was described from several specimens (syntypes) from Japan. These types have not been examined and the identity of the species is based on the figures of Kwon & Lee (1979) and Lee (1979). This species is similar to S. grandis (Matsumura) , but it can be distinguished by the following combination of characters: smaller size; apophysis of style long, strongly laterally curved; aedeagal shaft slender, far away aedeagal base.
