Distribution. England ( Evans 1954) and Turkey (this paper).

Remarks. Cheylostigmaeus salinus was originally collected from a salt marsh by R. Howells ( Evans 1954) and previously was known only in England. The Turkish specimens are collected from moss, grassy soil and soil under Nicotina sp., Salix sp. and Trifolium sp. The general feature of the Turkish specimen is similar to the type specimen given by Evans (1954) but the body sizes of Turkish specimens are larger (325/238 for male and 433/259 for female) than those of the type specimen (250/150 for male and 275/154 for female (Evans 1954)); setae sci is about four fifths the size sce in the Turkish specimens but sci and sce are subequal in the original illustration of C. salinus ; leg I solenidion omega is one third of omega 3 in the Turkish specimens but about two thirds of omega 3 in the original illustration of C. salinus . We consider these differences to be minor and therefore consider the English and Turkish specimens conspecific.

Cheylostigmaeus salinus is a newly recorded species for the Turkish fauna. Description of deutonymph female of this species is given for the first time in this study.
