Type locality. India.

Specimens were deposited in the Museum of National Agiculture Research Council, Islamabad; Peshawer Forest Institute Peshawer; and the Museum of Faislabad Agriculture University, Faislabad. In the PFI Museum the species has been reported from Ghulamullah and Ismail (collected in 1966 and 1970). The specimens in the museum of NARC were donated from the Pusa Collection. ZA made recent collections from Miandam, Swat and bulk quantities from Parachinar, N.W.F.P and Pir Chinasi, Azad Kashmir. Oshanin (1907) lists Kashmir and Chaundhry et al. (1970) remarked on specimens collected in Peshwar, Bara Fort and Swat, Miadam as Pakistani locations for the species.

Remarks. The species has been reported from India, Sri Lanka, Burma, Japan, Pakistan, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Nepal and Bhutan ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels & van der Laan 1985).
