( Fig. 18 View FIGURE 18 )

Description. Female. Body length 2.7 mm; fore wing length 2.2 mm.

Head. Antennae slender, filiform, 22-segmented. Scape 1.5 times as long as maximum width. First flagellar segment 5.5 times as long as its apical width, as long as second segment. Penultimate segment 3.5 times longer than wide, 0.7 times as long as first flagellar segment, as long as apical segment. Head behind eyes (dorsal view) distinctly and roundly narrowed. Width of head 1.5 times its median length. Eye 2.8 times as long as temple (dorsal view). Ocelli arranged in triangle with base 0.8 times its sides. POL: OD: OOL = 3: 4: 12. Vertex and frons finely striate. Vertex with sparse, short setae. Face rugose with punctation, its width 0.9 times height of eye, 1.2 times height of face and clypeus combined. Eye glabrous, 1.2 times as high as broad. Malar space 0.4 times height of eye, equal to basal width of mandible. Malar suture absent. Occipital carina complete dorsally, not fused with hypostomal carina ventrally.

Mesosoma. Length 2.0 times its height. Mesoscutum striate-rugose, highly and perpendicularly elevated above pronotum, with sparse setae arranged along notauli. Notauli shallow, sparsely and distinctly crenulate. Scutellum smooth. Prescutellar depression deep, rather long, with single distinct median carina, 0.5 times as long as scutellum. Subalar depression rather wide, coarsely rugose-striate. Precoxal sulcus deep, smooth, running along anterior 0.7 of lower part of mesopleuron. Propodeum with distinctly delineated by carinae and long basolateral areas, with delineated areola, basal carina short; basolateral areas almost smooth; remaining part of propodeum coarsely rugose-areolate.

Wings. Fore wing 3.4 times as long as maximum width. Vein r arising before middle of pterostigma. 3-SR forming very obtuse angle with r. 3-SR: r: SR1 = 13: 7: 37. First discal cell 1.7 times as long as maximum width. 1- SR+M distinctly curved. m-cu postfurcal. In Hind wing: M+CU: 1-M = 13: 13. m-cu almost straight, oblique towards base of wing, antefurcal, pigmented.

Legs. Hind coxa striate dorsally. Hind femur smooth, 3.3 times as long as wide. Hind tibia with rather short, sparse setae dorsally; length of these setae 0.2–0.5 times maximum width of hind tibia. Hind tarsus as long as hind tibia. Hind basitarsus 0.4 times as long as second-fifth segments combined; second tarsal segment 0.9 times as long as basitarsus, 1.7 times as long as fifth segment (except pretarsus).

Metasoma. About 1.1 times as long as mesosoma and head combined. First tergite with more or less distinct, weakly and curvedly convergent posteriorly dorsal carinae, densely and coarsely striate; apical width of tergite 2.0 times its minimum width, length equal to its maximum width. Suture between second and third tergites deep and sinuate. Second tergite entirely densely and coarsely striate, median length of tergite 0.25 times its basal width, 0.4 times length of third tergite. Third tergite in basal 0.2 with shallow, rather narrow, transverse furrow, striate in basal 0.3. Fourth tergite with very short striation basally. Remaining parts of tergites smooth. Ovipositor sheath 0.9 times as long as metasoma and 0.6 times as long as fore wing.

Colour. Body almost brownish yellow. Antennae brownish yellow to black, two basal segments brownish yellow. Palpi pale yellow. Legs yellow, fore and middle coxae and all trochanters pale yellow. Ovipositor sheath dark brown, pale basally. Wings faintly infuscate. Pterostigma dark brown.

Male. Unknown.

Material examined. Holotype: Ƥ, China, Hainan Prov., Yinggeling, 23–25.V.2007, Xiao Bin, No. 200807431 ( ZJUH). Paratype. 1Ƥ, China, Hainan Prov., Yingeling, 24–25.V.2007, Liu Jingxian, No. 200702690 ( ZJUH).

Diagnosis. This new species is similar to H. liui sp. nov., but differs in having the vertex and frons finely striate, first tergite long, second tergite short, fifth tergite entirely smooth, and ovipositor sheath long. H. tenuitergum sp. nov. is also similar to H. breviatus Shi, Yang et Chen , but differs in having the temple long, precoxal sulcus smooth, and basolateral areas of propodeum smooth.

Etymology. From Latin “tenuis” meaning “narrow”, and “tergit” meaning “tergite”.
