Zusammenfassung
Artbeschreibung (nach Lauber & al. 2018): 20-100 cm hoch, meist aus dem Wasser ragend. Alle Blätter grundständig, gestielt, eiförmig bis breit-lanzettlich, am Grund gerundet oder etwas herzförmig. Blüten rispig auf quirlig angeordneten Ästen, einen aufrechten, reichblütigen Gesamtblütenstand bildend. Perigonblätter 6, 3 äussere grün, 3 innere weiss oder rosa, 2-3mal so lang wie die äusseren. Staubblätter 6. Fruchtknoten zahlreich. Narbe länger als der Fruchtknoten, +/- gerade.

Standort und Verbreitung in der Schweiz (nach Lauber & al. 2018): Auf schlammigem Grund an Ufern, in Gräben und Sümpfen / kollin-montan / CH (fehlt im Engadin)

Zusammenfassung der Stammanatomie
Umriss rund oder oval. Leitbündel diffus verteilt. Grosse, unregelmässige Intercellularen. Epidermiszellen verholzt.
Beschreibung (Englisch)
Culm-diameter 2-5 mm, wall very large, radius of culm in relation to wall thickness approximately 1:0.75. Center hollow and surrounded by a few thin-walled, not lignified cells. Without cortex/cylinder separation. Culm without endodermis but with a sheath of lignified cells around the center. Epidermis smooth. Large vascular bundles arranged in 2-3 peripheral rows. Small or rudimentary vascular bundles mainly at the periphery. Vascular bundles collateral closed. Largest vessel in the bundle small, <20 μm. Cavities (intercellulars) between parenchyma-cells net-like (honeycomb). Cavities in form of canals, often surrounded by epithelian cells.
