Comments. Specimens from European Russia agree well with previous descriptions (see Van Damme & Dumont 2007, Hudec 2010) and are similar to P. bopingi sp. nov., but differ in the following characters: Body ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A–C, 6A–G) similar to the previous species, but of greater size (maximum length of female in studied material 0.73 mm, according to literature, maximum length is 0.8 mm). Valves with narrow flattened flange along posterior margin only. In studied material, sculpture of valves as weakly defined polygons with small cavities at outer side of polygon ( Fig 6 View FIGURE 6 H). Head with long evenly curved rostrum, pointing down, tip of rostrum same as in the previous species ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 I). Length of rostrum (measured from rostrum tip to the level of mandibular articulation point) is about 0.43–0.46 height of the body. Diameter of ocellus 2 times smaller than diameter of eye. Distance between ocellus and tip of the rostrum about two distances between ocellus and the center of the eye. Antenna ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 D) with seta arising from basal segment as reaching to the end of endopodite. Limb II ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 E) with spines 5 and 8 armed with short triangular spines.
