Distribution in Croatia: Recorded in all regions except Kvarner area, although found on Cres Isl. ( Krauss 1879). Distribution scattered, but generally more common than C. dorsalis .

Distribution in Europe: Southernmost border in Southern Spain and Portugal, Sardinia, Sicily, Crete and Cyprus, to the north reaching England, the Netherlands and Northern Germany, and Eastern European Russia to the east ( Hochkirch et al. 2016).
