Type species. Evania maculata Fabricius, 1775 , by subsequent monotypy of Latreille 1810: 437. Distribution. Russia: European part, Ural, Western and Eastern Siberia, Far East (Loktionov & Lelej 2014); worldwide ( Elliot 2007).

Distribution. Eastern Palaearctic, Neotropical, Afrotropical ( Madagascar), Oriental and Australian Regions ( Shimizu & Wahis 2007).
