This species was described by Wollaston based on male specimens from " Morocco, in montibus Atlas", of which one labelled " Type [white and yellow typewritten round label] / Atlas Mts., middle region, Dr. Hooker [rectangular handwritten label]/ Gymnetron lanuginosum Woll. View in CoL Type [rectangular handwritten label]" housed in the BMNH is here designated as the lectotype of Gymnetron lanuginosum Wollaston, 1875 View in CoL (des. Caldara). This specimen also corresponds to our taxon B.
