Distribution: Argentina: Misiones; Brazil; Brazil: Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul; Paraguay: Paraguarí.

New record for the Paraná State.

Comments: The position of the genus within the Phaneropterinae is still unclear ( Cigliano et al. 2022). The species appears not to be broadly distributed within South American forests, considering its northernmost record (Minas Gerais State, Brazil).

Bioacoustics ( Fig. 27 View FIGURE 27 ): Males produce sequences of echemes, each one composed by four to seven echemes. Each echeme is composed by 25 to 35 syllables that are produced with increasing intensity.

Dominant frequency: 16 ± 2 kHz.

Bandwidth: 7 ± 1.7 kHz.

Duration: Syllable: 4 ± 0.8 ms; Echeme: 40 ± 6 ms.

Mute interval: Syllable: 12 ± 1 ms; Echeme: 1.9 ± 0.14 s.
