Distribution: Argentina: Misiones; Brazil: Minas Gerais, Paraná; Paraguay.
New record for the Paraná State.
Comments: Individuals of this species are particularly abundant, both in visual as well as in aural observations, contrasting with the results of Chamorro-Rengifo et al. (2015), that stated the species as rare. As presented by Chamorro-Rengifo et al. (2015), these organisms inhabit in moist environments and preserved areas, what reinforces the importance of the Iguaçu National Park for the conservation of this species
Bioacoustics ( Fig. 3A–C View FIGURE 3 ): Males produce long sequences of echemes, each one composed by two syllables, the first with smaller and the second with higher intensity; in both cases the intensity increases quickly, and, after reaching the peak, decreases briefly and constantly. We were able to listen in the field many individuals singing at the same time, in a chorus behavior.
Dominant frequency: 7.16 ± 0.3 kHz.
Bandwidth: 2.2 ± 0.6 kHz.
Duration: Syllable: 0.07 ± 0.007 s; Echeme: 0.27 ± 0.012 s.
Mute interval: Syllable: 0.13 ± 0.009 s; Echeme: 7.4 ± 1.9 s.
