Type :—‘ BOLIVIE: sur les coteaux, prés du niveau des neiges perpétuelles de la Cordillère des lagunss de Potosí [18 Jun 1850] ([ M.] d’ Orbigny 1418)’ (holotype: P 01816805 !; isotypes: BR 0000005528011 !, G 00356020 !, K 000497783 !, W Rchb. 1889 0115297!). Distribution and Habitat ( Fig. 5 ): — Senecio expansus occurs in high mountains of the northwest of Argentina, Bolivia and Peru, at elevations of 3900–4500 m.
