Material examined. Rush 009, Samha, 12º10.317’N 53º04.383’E, upper intertidial among algae, coll. T. Wehe 7.4.2000, 2 specimens ( SMF 26700).
Habitat. Intertidal, amongst algae. Typically found in intertidal pools, specially on calcareous concretions of biological origin, like vermetid reefs, coral blocks, Posidonia oceanica rhizomes, photophilic and sciaphilic algae ( López et al. 1996).
Distribution. Djibouti, Gulf of Aden ( Gravier 1900). Adriatic Sea, Turkish Aegean Sea, Ionian Sea, North West Italy, East and western Mediterranean Sea, North East Atlantic, East coast of Spain ( Musco & Giangrande 2005). New record for Socotra.
Type locality. Djibouti, Gulf of Aden .
