Distribution in Iran: Mazandaran ( Amini et al. 2020).

New material examined: Mazandaran province, near Behshahr, 12 ex., in bracket fungus, R. Rezaei leg., without data on collecting date. Semnan province, Shahrud, GoogleMaps Jangal-e Abr, 3 ex., reared from mycelial layer on Populus sp. (Salicaceae), H. Ghahari leg., 11.vi.2015. General distribution: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Russia (West Caucasus) (this study), Ukraine (Crimea) ( Drogvalenko 2002; Jelínek 2008).

Habitat: This species was described from the Crimea ( Ukraine), where it was collected mainly in the basidiomes of tinder fungus of the genus Trametes ( T. versicolor , T. ochracea , T. pubescens , T. suaveolens ), as well as Cerrena unicolor . Also found singly in basidiomes of Hapalopilus rutilans , Fomes fomentarius and Fuscoporia contigua .

Comments: Reared from fungus on Fagus orientalis (Fagaceae) ( Amini et al. 2020).

Camptoptera cardui (Förster, 1856) ( Hymenoptera : Mymaridae ), 3♀♀, was collected from bracket fungus of Octotemnus rugosopunctatus in Golestan National Park .

Two species of Asilidae (Diptera) , Machimus annulipes (Brullé, 1832) , and Stenopogon elongatus (Meigen, 1804) were collected as the predators of Octotemnus rugosopunctatus from Semnan (Jangal-e Abr).
