The Egle pilitibia View in CoL species group

This species group equals the Egle pilitibia section of Griffiths (2003). It includes the Holarctic Egle pilitibia ( Ringdahl, 1918) and E. rectapica Ge & Fan, 1981 known from China: Qinghai, Gansu ( Jin et al. 1981; Hua 2006).

The monophyly of the species group is supported by apomorphies in the male terminalia: (1) 3–4 (instead of 2) setae on the pregonite; and (2) non-setose processes arising subbasally from inner margins of posterior lobes on the male sternite V. Possibly even (3) the squarish or transverse sternites III–IV and large sternite V.
