The Egle subarctica View in CoL species group

Griffiths (2003) established an ‘ Egle subarctica superspecies’ for E. subarctica ( Huckett, 1965) known from northern North America and Europe and the Chinese E. cyrtacra Fan & Weng, 1982 , while Michelsen (2004) considered them as identical species. Still, there is basis for recognition of an Egle subarctica species group upon the discovery of a new species, E. subarcticoides from the Near East. Detailed similarity in the male terminalia (other than sternite V) and the female oviscapt leaves no doubt that the two species are closely related within the E. minuta section.
