The present species group is newly established for two very similar species with some distinctive characters within the E. minuta section: E. setiapicis ( Huckett, 1965) from northern North America and E. setiapicoides sp. nov. from south Central Asia. This species group is certainly monophyletic: Extremely small; wholly polished black prementum; male sternite V distally on posterior lobes with 2–3 long, very close-set setae.
