Comments.

Trachylepis chimbana is one of the most taxonomically challenging species of the genus. This Angolan endemic had been confused by several authors ( Schmidt 1933; Hellmich 1957 a, b; Laurent 1964) with other taxa, such as Trachylepis bocagii or T. wahlbergi . Ceríaco et al. (2024) restricted T. chimbana to northern Namibe and southern Benguela provinces. This species is primarily rupicolous and was found mainly on granite outcrops.
