Basionym of: Mentha viridis (L.) L. (1763) .

Lectotype (Tucker & al. in Taxon 29: 234. 1980): Herb. Clifford: 306, Mentha 1 (BM-000646003) .

Current name: Mentha spicata L. ( Lamiaceae ).

Note: Homotypic with, and replaced by, M. spicata var. spicata which, as the autonym, has statutory priority.
