Type Locality: Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul State, Taquara (as restricted by Avila-Pires, 1994:372).
Vernacular Names: Striped Delomys.
Synonyms: Delomys lechei (Trouessart 1904) ; Delomys obscura (Leche 1886) .
Distribution: Atlantic Forest region of SE Brazil (Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo to Rio Grande do Sul) and NE Argentina (Misiones).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
