Types

Holotype, female, China  : Shaanxi Province, Ningshan County, 33 °18.43’N, 108 °18.33’E. September 7, 2004, from Populus  sp. ( Salicaceae  ), coll. Xue, XiaoFeng & Song, ZiWei. Paratypes, 7 females and 1 male, with the same data as holotype.

Relation to host

Mites are vagrant on leaf surface, causing no apparent damage.

Remarks

This species is similar to Tetra suspensae Xue & Hong, 2005  , but can be differentiated by prodorsal shield with lateral lobe (absent in T. suspensae  ), frontal lobe acuminate (frontal lobe broad in T. suspensae  ) and dorsal annuli with elliptical microtubercles (dorsal annuli with spiny microtubercles in T. suspensae  ).
