Legs 29 (27–31), femur 7 (7–8), basiventral femoral setae (bv) 13 (12–13); genu 5 (4–5), antaxial genual setae (l'') 8 (8–9); tibia 7 (6–7); tarsus 6 (5–6); tarsal empodium simple, 4 rayed, tarsal solenidion rodlike. Opisthosoma: dorsal opisthosoma with 33 (30–35) annuli, with elliptical granules, ventrally with 66 (63–68) microtuberculate annuli. Setae c2 35 (32–37) on ventral annulus 13 (13–14); setae d 42 (40–46) on ventral annulus 28 (27–29); setae e 26 (24–27) on ventral annulus 48 (47–48), setae f 31 (29–34) on 6th ventral annulus from rear. Types

Holotype, female, China : Shaanxi Province, Ningshan County, 33°18.43’N, 108°18.33’E. September 7, 2004, from Populus sp. ( Salicaceae ), coll. Xue, XiaoFeng & Song, ZiWei. Paratypes, 7 females and 1 male, with the same data as holotype.

Relation to host

Mites are vagrant on leaf surface, causing no apparent damage.

Remarks

This species is similar to Tetra suspensae Xue & Hong, 2005 , but can be differentiated by prodorsal shield with lateral lobe (absent in T. suspensae ), frontal lobe acuminate (frontal lobe broad in T. suspensae ) and dorsal annuli with elliptical microtubercles (dorsal annuli with spiny microtubercles in T. suspensae ).
