Lectotype (designated here): — BOLIVIA. Santa Cruz, near Santa Cruz de la Sierra, January 1911, T. C. J.Herzog 1398 (lectotype: G00438332 ; isolectotype: L3973155 ).

Nomenclatural notes:— In the protologue it is not mentioned the herbarium in which the type of Herzog 1398 was allocated. According to the code (Art. 7.11, note 2, ex. 13), when the herbarium was not mentioned, all specimens of that gathering are syntypes and, therefore, a lectotype must be designated. Berg & Villavicencio (2004) were the first to name the material deposited in the L herbarium as type (in the work as “ holotype ”), however, this cannot be considered a lectotypification because it was published after 2001 and the “designated here” or a similar phrase was not used (Art. 7.11). Here we designate the material G00438332 as a lectotype because it contains branches, stipules, leaves, and preserved syconia.

Taxonomical note:— Urostigma subtriplinervium f. ellipticum was synonymized by Berg & Villavicencio (2004) and Berg (2007) as Ficus pertusa .
