Femora yellow with more or less distinct brown distomedial ring.

Male. Body length 6.6–8.4 mm. Wing length 5.5 mm and width 1.5 mm. Dark brown with head and thorax partly yellow ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A).

Head. Moderately elongate in lateral view; dorsal length 5.2–6.4 mm and 1.4–1.8 mm width. Frontal vitta yellow with wide black spot on posterior third. Vertex with black spot extending over posterior margin of frons and fused in color with the blackish-brown occiput ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C); fronto-orbital plate black. Postocellar seta large and straight; length twice transverse diameter of ocellar tubercle; inner vertical seta straight and equal to outer vertical seta; outer vertical seta curved and divergent, 60% length of postocellar seta. Genal seta length 80% length of postocellar seta. Postgena narrows posteriorly, ventral margin rounded. Occiput dark brown; height three times length ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 D). Antennal base yellowish-brown and yellow on distal margin. Antenna length 70% length of head. Scape yellowish-brown; 0.2 mm long. Pedicel same color as scape; 0.2–0.3 mm long; inner process of pedicel triangular, wide at base and tapering towards apex. First flagellomere oblong, with subtle tightening on distal half; 0.5–0.6 mm long; length at least twice width. Arista dorso-apical, with dense white pubescence.

Thorax. Pleuron brown with bluish reflections. Anterior notopleural seta inconspicuous. Posterior notopleural seta same length as scutellar seta and stronger. Supra-alar seta subequal to postalar seta. Postalar seta and dorsocentral seta, 70% length of scutellar seta. Scutellar yellow median stripe inconspicuous; scutellar seta straight, half length of scutellum. Proepisternum bare. Katepisternum with posterior supramedial hair-like to spinelike seta. Katatergite same color as pleuron; length 1.3 times height. Metepimeron yellow, contrasting dark pleuron.

Legs. Mid coxa with one lateral spine-like seta. Femora subshiny yellow, with more or less distinct brown distomedial ring; mid femur anteriorly with three or four median setae.

Wing ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 E). Basicosta with dorsal inconspicuous seta. Halter white with knob brown.

Abdomen. Dark brown with bluish reflections. Syntergite 7+8 shiny brown. Epandrium shiny with white pruinescence, paler than syntergite 7+8 and dorso-apically darker.

Female. Similar to male, differs as follows: body length 6.4–8.4 mm ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 B). Wing length 5.0– 6.4 mm and width 1.4–2.8 mm. Katepisternal seta absent. Fore coxa without anterolateral spine-like seta. Oviscape brown with distal third yellow; length twice maximum width.
