( Figs. 8–12 View FIGURES 8 – 12 )

Type material. Holotype: CHINA: 3, " CHINA: Yunnan [ CH 07-15], Baoshan Pref., Gaoligong Shan, 29 km ESE Tengchong, 2350 m, 24°55'37''N, 98°45'09''E, dev. decid. forest, litter, wood, fungi, sifted, 1.VI.2007, leg. A. Pütz" [white, printed], " Microscydmus (s. str.) nasutus m., det. P. JAŁOSZYŃSKI '08, HOLOTYPUS " [red, printed] (CAP).

Diagnosis. This species can be identified on the basis of antero-lateral margins of frons divergent at sharp angle; non-modified protibiae; and aedeagus with broad and indistinctly delimited apical part of median lobe, and very large, darkly sclerotized pair of elongate sclerites in internal sac.

Description. BL 0.84. Body of male ( Figs. 8, 9 View FIGURES 8 – 12 ) slender, moderately convex, pigmentation moderately dark brown, pronotum slightly lighter than head and elytra, eyes nearly black; vestiture light brown, on elytra appears silver.

Head as long as broad, broadest at eyes, HL 0.18, HW 0.18; occipital constriction as broad as about 2/3 of vertex; tempora long, strongly convergent posteriorly, bent at obtuse angle; vertex and frons regularly rounded and strongly convex, together forming longitudinally elongate triangle with rounded sides and strongly projecting anterior tip; anterior part of frons just posterior to supraantennal tubercles slightly flattened; supraantennal tubercles weakly raised but distinct; eyes moderately large and convex, nearly circular, coarsely faceted, located in middle of head. Vertex and frons covered with very fine and shallow but dense punctures with diffused margins; setae short, sparse and suberect, except those on posterior margin of vertex and tempora, which are slightly longer and thicker, and strongly erect posteriorly and directed obliquely toward middle. Antennae relatively short, as in Fig. 10 View FIGURES 8 – 12 , AnL 0.31.

Pronotum in dorsal view nearly circular, with minimally projected basal part, broadest slightly anterior to middle, PL 0.20, PW 0.24; anterior and lateral margins confluent, strongly rounded; sides in posterior third weakly rounded; hind angles moderately well marked, strongly obtuse; posterior margin weakly arcuate; base with median pair of large, transversely oval, distinctly separated foveae and very small, barely recognizable lateral pit near each hind angle. Punctures on disc very fine and sparse; setae sparse, short, recumbent to slightly suberect.

Elytra regularly oval, more convex than pronotum, broadest minimally anterior to middle, EL 0.48, EW 0.33, EI 1.46; humerus on each elytron moderately distinct; base with very small fovea surrounded by large and deep basal impression; very narrow adsutural region in anterior half of each elytron slightly impressed; apices of elytra separately rounded, non-modified. Punctures more distinct than those on pronotum, fine, shallow, very dense; setae slightly shorter than those on pronotum, moderately dense, nearly recumbent. Hind wings well developed, about twice as long as elytra.

Legs moderately long, with very stout, short tarsi; protibiae with non-modified apices.

Venter as in Fig. 9 View FIGURES 8 – 12 (in the figure a part of abdomen is removed).

Aedeagus ( Figs. 11, 12 View FIGURES 8 – 12 ) 0.15 mm in length, with short and subtriangular apex of median lobe; internal armature composed of pair of very large, elongate and darkly sclerotized sclerites; parameres moderately slender, each bearing single, short and straight apical seta.

Female. Unknown.

Distribution. China: Yunnan.

Etymology. The Latin adjective " nasutus " adopted as a specific epithet means "large-nosed"; it refers to strongly expanded anterior margin of the frons.
