Material examined. Holotype male labelled ‘ Pseudosmittia valida sp. n., India, West Bengal, Kakdwip [21°52′N, 88°10′E], leg. A. Mazumdar, 16.x.1990; paratype 1 male, data same as holotype. GoogleMaps
Etymology. From the Latin word ‘ validus ’ meaning, robust, referring to the broad gonostylus; to be treated as noun.
Diagnosis. Pseudosmittia valida sp. n. can be recognised by the broad gonostylus, reduced anal lobe, and AR 1.06–1.07.
