Discussion: Ichthyomyini. Phylogenetic relationships studied by Voss (1988), who allocated Daptomys as a synonym. Distribution and morphological traits of lowland species summarized by Voss et al. (2001). Each species is generally known from few specimens, the animals rarely encountered and difficult to collect; as such, species diversity may be underestimated and ranges of known forms are minimal approximations.
