Genus Tapholyda Rasnitsyn, 1983

Type species. Tapholyda caplani ( Cockerell, 1933) (originally in the genus Cephaleia )

Revised diagnosis. First flagellomere thicker than following ones, longer than second flagellomere. Mesoscutellum relatively large. Forewing with SC well developed, with two branches (Sc1 and Sc2); M+Cu smoothly bent medially, ap-Cu vein absent; Rs+M twice longer than 1-M, 2-M slightly shorter than Rs+M; 3-Rs strongly arched; angle between 1-M and 1-Cu ca. 90°; cell 1R elongate (ratio length/ width = 2 in Tapholyda ); 4- Rs sub equal to 1-M; 2r-rs near apex of pterostigma, 3r-m oblique and inclined toward wing apex.
