Type species. Amynaskolia foramina n. sp. (SEE DESCRIPTION bELOW).

Etymology. FROM GREEK ‘ άΜυνας ’ (ámynas, COLLAR) AND ‘ ΚΟΛΙΈ ’ (kΟlié, DEFENSIVE), ALLUDINg TO THE AVICULARIA SURROUNDINg THE PRIMARY ORIFICE.

Diagnosis. COLONY ENCRUSTINg, MULTISERIAL. AUTOZOOIDS WITH EVENLY PSEUDOPOROUS FRONTAL SHIELD. PRIMARY ORIFICE WITH bROAD LYRULA. NO ORAL SPINES. PERISTOME ELEVATED, SUbTUbULAR WITH PROXIMOFRONTAL PSEUDOSPIRAMEN. AVICULARIA PAIRED, LATERO-ORAL, WITH ADDITIONAL AVICULARIA AbLE TO bE bUDDED bETWEEN THESE. ENDOZOOIDAL OVICELL CALCIFIED WITH A FEW SCATTERED PORES, COVERED bY SECONDARY CALCIFICATION.

Remarks. THE NEW gENUS DIFFERS FROM Smittina AND RELATED PSEUDOPOROUS SMITTINIDS IN HAVINg PAIRED LATERO- ORAL AVICULARIA bETWEEN WHICH ADDITIONAL ADVENTITIOUS AVICULARIA MAY bE bUDDED. ADDITIONALLY, ALL ENDOZOOIDAL OVICELLS IN THE PRESENT MATERIAL ARE AT THE gROWINg MARgIN AND APPEAR COVERED bY SECONDARY CALCIFICATION.
