General distribution. Tropical Asia. Also known from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Phillipines, Indonesia and Taiwan.
Remarks. According to Bedos & Deharveng (2000) and Smolis (2017) the Vietnam records will need verification. B. hirtella is a complex of species ( Bedos 1994; Jantarit et al. 2016).
