Parastasia oberthueri Ohaus, 1900: 245 [description, in P. discolor species-group]; Ohaus 1918: 34 [catalogued]; Ohaus 1925: 78 [description of the male, parameres figured]; Ohaus 1934: 102 [catalogued]; Paulian 1958: 84 [redescription of the female holotype, key]; Machatschke 1972: 41 [catalogued].

Material examined (4♂♂, 2♀♀). 2♂♂ ( CCCC), CHINA: Guangxi, Laibin City, Jinxiu County, Mount Dayaoshan , 1450m, 2016. VIII.9, Jin-Teng Zhao leg. ; 1♂ ( CCCC), CHINA: Guangxi, Laibin City, Jinxiu County, Mount Day- aoshan, 1200m, 2016. VIII.24, Jin-Teng Zhao leg. ; 1♀ ( CCCC), CHINA: Guangxi, Laibin City, Jinxiu County, Mount Dayaoshan , 1250m, 2016. VII.31, Jin-Teng Zhao leg. ; 1♂ ( CCCC), CHINA: Guangxi, Guilin City, Xing’an County, Mount Maoershan , 1150m, 2015. VIII.18, Yan-Quan Lu leg. ; 1♀ ( CZMZ), CHINA: Guangdong, Shaoguan City, Ruyuan County, Nanling Nature Reserve , Babaoshan Station , 1200m, larva collected by Jin-Kun Zhang on 2017. V.6, emerged on 2018. V.20.

Remarks. So far, there were wide gaps between the records of P. oberthueri ( Vietnam, Taiwan of China, Ishigaki Island of Japan). The specimens from southeastern mainland China reported here fill the blank areas. The pronotum of the two examined female specimens are orange, with all margins narrowly darkened, thus these individuals should be regards as the nominotypical subspecies according to Kuijten (1992).

Natural History. Adults of two males were found hanging on bird capturing net.Another male and female were observed flying and captured by during daytime (observed by Jin-Teng Zhao). The larva feeds on decayed wood. The pupa is cradled in the inflated last larval skin ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 40–46 ).

Distribution. China (new record): Guangxi, Guangdong; Vietnam.
