Brycinus batesii (Boulenger, 1903)

Alestes batesii Boulenger, 1903a:435 . Type locality: Kribi River , southern Cameroon. Syntypes: BMNH 1902.11.12.110–111 (2); BMNH 1903.7.28.140 (1).

Distribution: 533 (Boulenger, 1909a; Paugy, 1986).

Remarks: Paugy, Schaefer (2007) questioned the validity of the species by suggesting it could be a morphotype of Brycinus macrolepidotus Valenciennes, 1850 .
