TYPE LOCALITY: Chile, Santiago Prov., Santiago .

DISTRIBUTION: Chile, west slope of the Andes between Vallenar and Curico, to 1,200 m.

STATUS: Common.

SYNONYMS: alba, clivorum, cumingii, getulus, kutnmingii, pallidus , peruana.

COMMENTS: Reviewed by Woods and Boraker (1975, Mammalian Species, 67). The chromosome no. is 2n=58.
