TYPE LOCALITY: Brazil, Rio Guaporé .

DISTRIBUTION: Bolivia, SW to NC Brazil, S Venezuela, adjacent Colombia.

STATUS: Uncommon.

SYNONYMS: molline, negrensis, orinoci, pagurus , pietà, villosa.

COMMENTS: Patton and Emmons (1985) recognized 2 subspecies (I. b. bistriata and I. b. orinoci). They combined villosus as part of subspecies bistriata . Listed as bistriatus by Corbet and Hill (1991:206).
