Diagnosis. Body elongated obovate, brown to dark brown; pronotum subparallel in basal 0.4, distinctly attenuated anteriorly; disc of pronotum without median carina or sulcus, sublateral carinae on pronotum present in basal 0.3; elytral intervals 7, 8 carinate; prosternal process broad, slightly narrowed from base to the apex, and apex broadly rounded; metaventrite with a pair of ad-median carinae from base to basal 0.8. This species is similar to Grovellinus duplaris Champion, 1923 in habitus, but it can be distinguished from the latter by its larger body size, surface of pronotum smooth and shining which is coarse in G. duplaris , by interval 5 not carinate, and also by penis with sides subparallel in basal 0.75 and apices of parameres distinctly incurved, not distinctly narrowed in basal 0.75.

Description. BL 2.7 mm, BW 1.35 mm. Habitus see Figs 3A–B View FIGURE 3 . Body elongate, brown to dark brown.

Head. Antennae and mouth part yellowish brown, tarsi light brown. Labrum slightly indented. Clypeus and frons smooth and shining, setiferous punctures moderately dense.

Pronotum ( Fig. 9A View FIGURE 9 ), subparallel in basal 0.4, then distinctly attenuated anteriorly, PL 0.8 mm, PW 1.0 mm. Surface smooth and shining, setiferous punctures moderately dense. Median carina absent. Sublateral carinae present in basal 0.3, and a shallow groove extending from apex of the carina towards anterior angle on each side. Base with a pair of small impressions in front of anterior angles of scutellum.

EL 1.9 mm, EW 1.35 mm. Strial punctures moderately large and deep, separated by 1–1.5 times of their diameters in basal half. Punctures smaller and well separated in distal half. Intervals 2–4 slightly elevated near base. Intervals smooth and shining, intervals 1, 3, 5 with a row of setiferous punctures. Intervals 7, 8 carinate.

Prosternal process ( Fig. 9B View FIGURE 9 ) slightly narrowed from base to apex, lateral margin distinctly rimmed, disc smooth and shining, only with few setiferous punctures; distal 1/3 of prosternal process somewhat rugulose. Metaventrite ( Fig. 9C View FIGURE 9 ) broadly and shallowly impressed, and disc smooth and shining, fine punctures sparsely distributed; with a pair of ad-median carinae from base to basal 0.8, lateral area densely pubescent.

Middle disc of ventrites I–IV and anterior 1/4 of ventrite V smooth and shining, fine punctures sparsely distributed; lateral area of ventrites I–IV densely pubescent. Distal 2/3 of ventrite V densely granulate and pubescent ( Fig 9C View FIGURE 9 ).

Aedeagus ( Figs 15A–C View FIGURE 15 ). 0.75 mm long. Penis is about 1.6 times as long as phallobase. Penis sub-parallel in basal 0.75, distinctly narrowed in distal 0.25, apex roundly extended. Penis slightly overreaching the parameres. In ventral view, parameres broad at base, then almost with the same breadth from basal 0.1 to 0.8, distinctly narrowed from basal 0.8 to 0.9, then incurved in distal 0.1, apex narrowly rounded with some long setae. In dorsal view, subparallel in basal 0.6, then distinctly narrowed to basal 0.95, apices incurved.

Males: BL 2.5–2.7 mm, BW 1.2–1.35 mm (n=7); females: BL 2.6–2.7 mm, BW 1.3–1.35 mm (n=2).

Distribution. China: Yunnan.

Etymology. This species is named after Yunfei Peng (Shanxi, China), who is a very good collector of water beetles.
