Distribution. Western Atlantic – East coast of the USA, Antilles, northern South America, and Brazil (from Pará to Santa Catarina) ( Melo 1996).

Ecological notes. On sand, mud and shell bottoms. Intertidal to 55 m ( Melo 1996).
