GEOGRAPHIC DISTRIBUTION: AFR–SI.

REMARKS: According to Ahmed (2004) the Egyptian material was collected from Bir al- Abd (north Sinai) from a shallow water bool with dense vegetation and sandy bottom. The Egyptian distribution of N. aethiopicus was not included in the world catalogue of Noteridae ( Nilsson 2011) .

REMARKS: Neohydrocoptus jaechi ( Wewalka, 1989) was recorded for the first time in Egypt by Ahmed & Angus (2000). It is very similar to the misidentified N. angolensis (Peschet, 1925) recorded in Egypt by Zalat et al. (2000), but there are aedeagal differences. According to Nilsson (2004) all the Palearctic records of N. angolensis refer to N. jaechi .
