Paraiulus gyratus Loomis, 1971:51 View in CoL , figs. 2–5. Hoffman, 1999:170. Bueno-Villegas et al., 2004:589.

Type specimens. ɗ holotype and Ψ paratype ( NMNH) collected by C. Beutelspacher, 18 May 1968, at Pedregal San Angel, Distrito Federal, Mexico. This site is now an ecological preserve in Mexico City, on the campus of Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico.

Diagnosis. Anterior projection of posterior gonopod moderately prolonged subapically, terminally bifurcate; solenomere broad basally, extending slightly beyond level of distal extremity of anterior projection; caudal branch long, curving strongly dorsad at 2/3 length, completely overhanging anterior projection with tip visible beneath latter.

Habitat. The types were discovered in pines ( Loomis 1971).

Distribution. Northern Distrito Federal, extending northward into Morelos and eastward into Puebla states. According to Loomis (1971), a topotype was collected on 4 May 1968. He ( Loomis 1971) also published the following records that he assigned to " P. " r. rosanus , but my examination of the samples shows that they are actually new records of " P." r. gyr at us.

New records. MEXICO: Distrito Federal, Ixtapala, 7ɗ, 7Ψ, date and collector's names illegible (NMNH). Hidalgo, Parque Nacional de El Chico, 2800m, 3ɗ, 5Ψ, 19 June 1943, C. Bolivar, F. Bonet, B.F.
