Vertex beige to brown, eyes blackish. Pronotum brown, scutum and scutellum dark brown, yellowish at scutoscutellar sulcus. Fore wing and hind wing infuscate and semitransparent, brochosome field and wing venation dark infuscate.

Male genitalia. Abdominal apodemes ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 16 – 23 ) reaching 4th abdominal sternite. Pygofer side ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 16 – 23 ) covered with many microsetae and blunt teeth, provided with expanded, serrate extension ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 16 – 23 ) covered with small teeth and several setae. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 16 – 23 ) small, shorter than pygofer side, roviding a few microsetae situated at process and several very small microsetae at the centre of plate. Connective ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 16 – 23 ) Y-shaped. Paramere ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 16 – 23 ) terminated on broadened lamella with apex curved ventrad. Penis ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 16 – 23 ) dorsal apodeme with well developed membrane, penis stem thin with blunt apex, gonopore apical.

Measurements. Male 4.00–4.28 mm (including wing).

Material examined. Holotype: male, Mengla Yaoqu, Yunnan Prov., 800 m, 28 May. 2009, coll. Cui Wei; Paratypes: 3 males, same data as holotype; 4 males, Mengla Yaoqu, Yunnan Prov., 800 m, 2 Jun. 2009, coll. Cui Wei; 3 males, Mengla Yaoqu, Yunnan Prov., 800 m, 3 Jun. 2009, coll. Cui Wei; 3 males, Mengla Longmen, Yunnan Prov., 930 m, 17 May. 2009, coll. Cui Wei; 1 male, Jinping, Yunnan Prov., 1900 m, 10 Jun. 2009, coll. Cui Wei; 1 male, Pingbian, Yunnan Prov., 1300 m, 14 Jun. 2009, coll. Cui Wei; 1 male, Pingbian, Yunnan Prov., 1700m, 15 Jun. 2009, coll. Cui Wei; 1 male, Yingjiang Zhanxi, Yunnan Prov., 1092 m, 2 Jun. 2009, coll. Xu Silong.

Remarks. This species differs from all others of the genus by the pygofer side extension with serrated margin and the thin penis stem.

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin word “ acanthophylla ” referring to the shape of the pygofer side extension.
