Distribution
This species (Fig. 6 View Figure 6 D), which was originally described from Japan ( Scott 1874), is widely distributed in the Oriental, Australian and Melanesian Regions reaching eastwards to the remote islands of the West Pacific Region ( Andersen and Weir 2003). See Fig. 7 View Figure 7 for the additional records.
Taxon discussion
See Andersen et al. (2002) for identification. The species is rarely collected in the Island.
Habitat
The species was found on stream banks, specifically in side pools (Fig. 3 View Figure 3 B), such as at site BR3 (Fig. 2 View Figure 2 A).
