Distribution. Western Atlantic— USA (Florida), Antilles, and Brazil (Pernambuco, São Paulo, Santa Catarina) (Coelho & Ramos-Porto 1972; Melo 1999).

Remarks. Previous records from the coast of São Paulo include São Sebastião ( Amaral et al. 2010 as Sergio guassutinga ; Mantelatto et al. 2018, Robles et al. 2020). There are additional genes sequenced (18S— MN237996 View Materials ; H3— MN238234 View Materials ) by Robles et al. (2020).Sequences accession number (GenBank):CCDB 5516—16S( MN237799 View Materials ), COI ( MF490065 View Materials ) ( Mantelatto et al. 2018; Robles et al. 2020).
