Type locality. Nukumbutho reef, Viti Levu, Fiji.

Material examined. Queensland: 1 male, 8.0 mm, dissected, 3 slides, AM P.90106, Number One Reef, Katai Nab, north of Horn Island, Torres Strait (10°32.502’S 142°10.259’E), 6 m, submerged rope fibre caught on reef, encrusted with red epiphytic algae on tips, 28 September 2006, coll. J.K. Lowry and L.E. Hughes (QLD 1846); 3 specimens, AM P.90107, Number One Reef, Katai Nab, north of Horn Island, Torres Strait (10°32.502’S 142°10.259’E), 6 m, submerged rope fibre caught on reef, encrusted with red epiphytic algae on tips, 28 September 2006, coll. J.K. Lowry and L.E. Hughes (QLD 1846).

Northern Territory: 7 specimens, AM P.78221, northwest end, McCluer Island, Cobourg Peninsula (11°02’S 132°58’E), 6 m, bommies, brown algae on top of reef, 16 October 1982, coll. J.K. Lowry (NT 48).

Remarks. Previously known from the South Pacific; these additional records place A. kuala along the tropical north coast of Australia.
