Type locality. Eve Bay, Wellington, New Zealand.

Material examined. New South Wales: 2 specimens, AM P.36710, Quarantine Bay, Twofold Bay (37°4’42”S 149°53’E), seagrass beds Poisidonia sp., 25 June 1985, coll. S.J. Keable and A.L. Reid; many specimens, AM P.53881, Quarantine Bay, Twofold Bay (37°4’42”S 149°53’E), seagrass beds Posidonia sp., 17 September 1985, coll. P.A. Hutchings (Q1,3).

Tasmania: 2 specimens, AM P.83631, south east Mills Reef, west coast Bruny Island (43°19’S 147°14’E), 2 m, rocky reef under rock, 14 December 1977, coll. C. Short.

Remarks. This is the first record of P. aorangi outside of New Zealand. The species is recorded herein from across the southern coast of Australia.
