Taira flavidorsalis species - group

Diagnosis. The T. flavidorsalis species-group can be distinguished from the T. qiuae species - group by the following characters: dorsal tibial apophysis of the male palp with obvious branches in the T. flavidoralis species-group, whereas dorsal tibial apophysis with some small teeth-like apophyses, but not bifurcated in the T. qiuae species - group; male palp with a single or degenerated retrolateral tibial apophysis in the T. flaviodoralis species-group, whereas male palp with two retrolateral tibial apophyses in the T. qiuae species - group; male conductor membranous in the T. flaviodoralis species-group, whereas male conductor with additional and highly sclerotized apophyses in the T. qiuae species - group; male tegular apophysis originating from the area between the base of conductor and embolus (located at the top of tegulum) in the T. flaviodoralis species-group, whereas covering most of embolus in ventral view in the T. qiuae species - group ( Figs 3C–E , 4C–E ); female epigynal median lobe with distinct margin in the T. flaviodoralis species-group, whereas with indistinct margin in the T. qiuae species - group; female spermathecae rounded in the T. flaviodoralis species-group, whereas longer than wide in the T. qiuae species - group; female fertilization duct short in the T. flaviodoralis species-group ( Figs 2B, C , 3F, G , 4F, G ), whereas very long in the T. qiuae species - group.

Composition and distribution. A total of fourteen species have been included in this species-group ( Fig. 24 ): Taira borneoensis sp. nov. (♀) from Borneo (Sabah of East Malaysia); Taira flavidorsalis ( Yaginuma, 1964) (♀) from China and Japan; and the remaining 12 species, Taira cangshan Zhang, Zhu & Song, 2008 (♂ ♀), Taira concava Zhang, Zhu & Song, 2008 (♂ ♀), Taira decorata ( Yin & Bao, 2001) (♂ ♀), Taira gyaisiensis sp. nov. (♀), Taira latilabiata Zhang, Zhu & Song, 2008 (♂ ♀), Taira liboensis Zhu, Chen & Zhang, 2004 (♂ ♀), Taira nyagqukaensis sp. nov. (♀), Taira obtusa Zhang, Zhu & Song, 2008 (♂ ♀), Taira sulciformis Zhang, Zhu & Song, 2008 (♂ ♀), Taira wanzhouensis sp. nov. (♂ ♀), Taira xuanenensis sp. nov. (♂) and Taira yangi sp. nov. (♂ ♀), from South China.
