Diagnosis. The male of this species can be differentiated from males of all other Taira species by having a hook-shaped median apophysis situated 90° to the tegulum ( Figs 9D, E View FIGURE 9 , 10D, E View FIGURE 10 ) and a hook-shaped embolus with a sharp pointed end ( Figs 9C View FIGURE 9 , 10C View FIGURE 10 ). The female of this species most closely resembles T. liboensis by having rounded spermathecae and a strip-shaped epigynal median lobe ( Figs 10F, G View FIGURE 10 ), but can be distinguished by having the spermathecae separated at a distance more than three times their diameter.

Exterior branch of dorsal tibial apophysis depressed in prolateral view. Embolus hook-shaped, with sharp pointed end. Median apophysis hook-shaped, situated 90° to tegulum. Tegular apophysis reduced, triangle-shaped.

Female ( Fig. 10B View FIGURE 10 ), description see Zhang et al. (2008). Epigyne ( Figs 9A, B View FIGURE 9 , 10F, G View FIGURE 10 , 11A, B View FIGURE 11 ).
