Distribution. Originally described based on a type series from Antigua, Cuba, Haiti and the Virgin Islands ( Bryant 1940), until now thought to be a Caribbean endemic. Antigua, Ascension Island (new record), Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique, Montserrat, Puerto Rico, Saba, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Saint Maarten ( Bryant 1940; Richman 1989; this work).

Remarks. Newly recorded from Ascension ( Figures 1-2 ), and indeed the first records from the South Atlantic. This species was very likely introduced with air freight or by shipping.
